FencR 2.3: Put Your Schedule on the Wall
FencR 2.3 turns any screen at your club into a live schedule board. Open today's schedule on a TV, in its own window you can drag to a second display, and it takes over the screen: big readable cards, coach and athlete faces, a full-width now line, and a clock that ticks. It refreshes itself and rolls over to the next day on its own. The rest of the release is a readability pass on the calendar you already use every day, with larger cards, clearer text, and the athlete's name front and center on every lesson.
FencR 2.3 is live for every club, and it starts with a screen.
Walk into a busy salle at 4pm and the same question is in the air: what is on the floor right now, and what is next. FencR 2.3 answers it without anyone asking. Point a TV or spare monitor at your schedule and leave it up. Athletes, parents, and coaches can all read the room at a glance.
Project your schedule onto any screen
On the Schedule page there is a new button next to Check-In: Project. Admins click it and pick one of two ways to go.
- Open in a new window pops the board out into its own window. Drag that window onto the TV or a second monitor, click Fullscreen, and you are done. Your main FencR window stays exactly where it was, so you can keep booking, messaging, and managing while the board runs on the wall.
- Show on this screen takes over the current screen in fullscreen right away, for when the device you are on is the one wired to the display.
There is no code to unlock and no station to configure. Closing the window or pressing Escape ends it.
A board built to be read across the room
The display shows today, sized to fill the screen from top to bottom with no wasted space, whether the window is fullscreen or not. Each session is a large, clean card:
- Big titles that read from across the salle, with the event type labeled in the corner: Lesson, Practice, Open Bouting, or Tournament.
- Faces, not just names. Lead and assisting coaches appear as profile photos, and group sessions show the athletes who have signed up as a row of avatars with a headcount.
- Lessons lead with the athlete. A private lesson reads as the athlete's name and the coach, so a parent spots their fencer instantly.
- Time, weapon, and location on one tidy line, with the club's category colors carried through so beginner and competitive practices are easy to tell apart.
A full-width now line, anchored by a time pill and paired with a clock that ticks the seconds in the corner, makes it obvious what is happening this minute. The board refreshes itself every minute and rolls over to the new day on its own, so you can set it up once and forget it.
Overlapping sessions sit side by side in their own lanes instead of hiding behind each other, and a busy stretch never buries a session in a dead end.
The calendar you use every day, easier to read
The rest of 2.3 is a readability pass on the schedule inside your dashboard, for admins, coaches, athletes, and parents alike:
- Bigger cards and clearer text across the day, week, by-coach, and month views, so a glance tells you more.
- The athlete's name, in bold, on every lesson card, shown the same way the lead coach is, so who a lesson is with is never in doubt.
- Hover a practice and you now see the faces of everyone signed up, not just a count.
None of this changes how scheduling works. Your sessions, bookings, credits, and coaches are exactly where they were. They are just easier to see.
Also in FencR 2.3
The projection board headlines the release, but 2.3 ships a full set of coach and club tools alongside it:
- A new Lessons page for coaches and admins: a nightly roll call that marks a whole evening of private lessons as given or no-show in a few taps, and a live ledger of students by days, with totals per student and per coach across week, month, and year views. Your existing lesson history is already filled in.
- A morning booking digest. Staff get one email at 8am in the club's own timezone summarizing every booking members and parents made in the last day. Quiet days send nothing.
- A Try Fencing button for your website. Alongside the Join Our Club embed, a second button welcomes first-timers with beginner-friendly wording and tags them as beginners on your Leads page, so you can route them straight to intro classes.
- Fixes and clarity: booked-lesson details always show your club's timezone, and updates to our Terms or Privacy Policy that affect your rights now ask for your agreement plainly before you continue.
